Responsibilities
- Lead Manufacturing Quality Teams: Oversee day-to-day operations of large-scale manufacturing quality control processes.
- Quality Monitoring & Action: Manage data-driven activities to ensure product quality, including:
- Supplier quality evaluations
- Monitoring key manufacturing metrics (IQC, IPQC, EoL, PSI, etc.)
- Ongoing reliability testing
- Tier 2 supplier strategy and management
- Analyzing field returns data
- Manage Manufacturing Quality Teams: Lead factory-based and factory-facing teams, including SQE and PQE roles.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with the Supply Chain team on vendor selection and improvements.
- Partner with Product Development: Ensure smooth transition of new products into mass production.
- Leadership & Team Management: Provide vision, direction, and strong organizational skills to manage teams across multiple locations in China, Vietnam, and Thailand.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize quality tools to analyze, communicate, and prioritize quality performance for continuous improvement.
- Problem-Solving & Decision Making: Lead with resolve, maturity, and the ability to analyze complex issues to make informed decisions.
- Effective Communication: Lead presentations, meetings, and provide individual coaching to team members.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Quality Management, etc.
- 10-20 years of experience managing manufacturing quality in global consumer product companies with a focus on international markets.
- Hands-on experience with heated and motorized consumer products, such as power tools, vacuum cleaners, cooking products, etc.
- Extensive knowledge of mass manufacturing processes, including injection molding, metal stamping, surface treatments/coatings, and finished goods assembly.
- Strong technical background in manufacturing quality control, utilizing quality tools and methodologies to ensure product quality.
- Experience with supplier quality evaluations, manufacturing metrics (IQC, IPQC, EoL, PSI, etc.), ongoing reliability testing, and Tier 2 supplier strategy and management.
- Ability to monitor and improve quality performance through data-driven approaches, including compiling, analyzing, and communicating data effectively.
- Leadership skills in leading geographically dispersed quality teams, located across China, South Vietnam, East Thailand, and other international locations.
- Ability to organize, lead, and motivate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, complex environment, ensuring alignment with the company's quality objectives.
- A strong, calm, and determined leader who can effectively define and execute solutions to complex manufacturing and quality challenges.
- Ability to listen actively, ask insightful questions, and analyze complex issues, making critical decisions based on data and thorough understanding of the situation.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present effectively to senior leadership, lead meetings, and provide individual coaching.
- Proven ability to communicate complex quality issues to a variety of audiences and drive collaborative solutions across functions and regions.
- Must be fluent in both English and Mandarin (spoken and written) to communicate effectively with global teams and stakeholders.
