Quality Manager

A global leader in sustainable packaging is seeking an experienced and proactive Quality Manager to serve as a key member of the Site Leadership Team. This role is responsible for managing and continuously improving quality systems, food safety, and forest sustainability programs while ensuring excellence in customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and audit performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the Site Leadership Team, actively supporting all site safety programs and initiatives.
- Manage and continuously improve quality systems, food safety, and forest sustainability programs.
- Lead and ensure successful outcomes for government, customer, third‑party, and internal audits and inspections (SQF, IMS, FSC, etc.).
- Develop and implement cost‑effective inspection procedures aligned with company and customer requirements.
- Oversee food packaging safety for the site and assigned customers, ensuring materials and finished goods meet all specifications.
- Prepare for and lead SQF system audits, HACCP activities, and internal audit teams.
- Manage customer communications, including issue resolution, complaint handling, customer visits, and new product support.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and CI teams on new product onboarding and new machinery startups to ensure food safety compliance.
- Manage material qualification, supplier certification programs, incoming material monitoring, and Quality Hold processes.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working within MRP/ERP systems
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a quality department within a manufacturing environment
- Comfortable interacting with corporate leadership, plant management, and production employees
- Strong customer communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field
- SQF Practitioner and HACCP training (required within 6 months of hire if not already completed)
- Experience in paperboard food packaging or related food packaging environments
