Senior Customs Manager
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Customs Manager on behalf of our client, to lead customs operations for a major logistics hub in the Amsterdam Port Area. This is a strategic leadership position overseeing compliance, efficiency, and team development within a bonded warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Customs Compliance: Ensure adherence to Dutch and EU customs regulations for import/export activities.
- Leadership: Manage a direct team of 12 professionals and oversee a bonded warehouse workforce of 65 employees.
- Operational Excellence: Supervise customs documentation, clearance processes, and bonded warehouse procedures.
- Process Optimisation: Drive improvements in customs workflows, automation, and risk management.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison with customs authorities, logistics partners, and internal departments.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in customs management within logistics or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of EU customs regulations and bonded warehouse processes.
- Leadership skills with experience managing both blue- and white-collar teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment.
