Position Overview

We're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team focused on developing advanced battery electronics for aerospace applications. This role involves designing and testing electrical circuits for new products and improving existing energy storage systems used in both military and commercial aircraft.


Responsibilities

  • Interpret customer technical requirements and develop practical, efficient solutions.
  • Design Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for power supplies, battery chargers, and battery management systems.
  • Simulate and test mixed-signal circuits using tools such as SPICE and MATLAB.
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards including DO-160, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461 through qualification testing.
  • Lead design reviews (PDR and CDR) to ensure alignment with technical, cost, and schedule goals.
  • Troubleshoot and improve existing products while contributing to new product development.
  • Use lab equipment (oscilloscopes, DAQs, DMMs) to validate and refine designs.
  • Develop test plans, reports, and acceptance procedures to support product reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in circuit design, with a focus on power electronics (AC/DC, DC/DC converters, battery chargers).
  • Strong background in analog and digital design; experience with PWM control, Power MOSFETs, and IGBT technologies preferred.
  • Experience managing designs from schematic through final testing.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC design principles and mitigation techniques.
  • Proficiency with lab tools and simulation software (MATLAB, SPICE).
  • Experience designing to meet aerospace standards such as DO-160 and MIL-STD-704.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems programming in C/C++ is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds; must be able to communicate effectively across teams.
