Ship Repair Superintendent
We are on the lookout for an experienced Ship Repair Superintendent to lead and oversee vessel repair projects from start to finish. You will be responsible for ensuring all repair activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The Ship Repair Superintendent will serve as the primary driver of execution excellence, coordinating teams, resolving technical challenges, managing customer expectations, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and classification requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day production activities within the repair department.
- Coordinate resources with the new construction team as needed.
- Manage contract execution, including customer communications, change orders, schedules, and budgets.
- Oversee project personnel, vendor relationships, purchasing, labor forecasting, and invoicing.
- Ensure all repair work, including welding, machinery, electrical systems, outfitting, sea trials, and commissioning, is completed safely and in compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with regulatory and classification bodies (ABS, USCG, and others) to ensure all standards are met.
- Occasionally travel or supervise onboard repair activities, though the role is primarily shoreside.
Requirements:
- Strong track record in ship repair, shipyard operations, or marine engineering.
- Working knowledge of ABS, USCG, and major classification societies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and coordinate complex repair projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate and resolve technical issues.
- Effective communicator with strong customer-facing capabilities.
