The Role
We are looking for a highly experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager - Electronic Components to lead sourcing activities across a broad range of components used in smartphones, smart devices, and IoT products.
This role will play a critical part in driving cost optimization, supplier development, risk mitigation, and component availability while partnering closely with engineering, product development, and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives for electronic components across mobile and connected device products.
- Review and analyze BOMs to identify suitable components and sourcing opportunities.
- Qualify alternative and secondary sources to enhance supply continuity and reduce costs.
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, contract negotiation, and ongoing supplier performance management.
- Identify and manage supply risks related to constrained, obsolete, or high-risk components.
- Build strong relationships with global component manufacturers, distributors, and strategic suppliers.
- Support projects by collaborating with Engineering, R&D, and Operations teams on component selection and sourcing strategies.
- Deliver cost-saving initiatives while ensuring quality, delivery, and technical requirements are achieved.
- Monitor market dynamics, industry trends, pricing movements, and supplier developments.
- Provide sourcing insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in electronic component sourcing, procurement, component engineering, or strategic purchasing.
- Strong background within consumer electronics, smartphones, connected devices, IoT products, EMS, or ODM/OEM environments.
- Solid understanding of electronic components including semiconductors such as Digital IC. RF and Wireless, power mangagement devices, connected devices parts etc
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, circuit schematics, and technical datasheets.
- Strong knowledge of component supply chains across China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.
- Proven track record in supplier negotiations, cost reduction programs, and supply risk management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience supporting smartphone, wearable, smart home, networking, communication, or other connected device products.
- Strong network across global electronic component manufacturers and distributors.
- Commercially driven with the ability to influence sourcing decisions at a strategic level.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Fluency of English and Mandarin Chinese is a must.
