Transport Manager
Role Overview:
The Transport Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of transportation operations, ensuring the efficient movement of goods. This role is critical in maintaining a high standard of service, optimizing delivery schedules, and managing relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders. The Transport Manager will lead a team of drivers and transport coordinators while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day transport operations, ensuring efficient routing, timely deliveries, and effective resource utilization.
Team Leadership: Manage and lead the transport team, including drivers and coordinators, providing guidance, training, and performance reviews.
Budget & Cost Control: Monitor and control the transport budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality service.
Fleet Management: Ensure the proper maintenance, scheduling, and utilization of company vehicles, including trucks, vans, and other transport vehicles.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure all transportation activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and health & safety standards. Keep up to date with local and EU transport regulations.
Customer Satisfaction: Act as the point of contact for any transportation-related customer inquiries, ensuring customer expectations are met.
Route Optimization: Develop and implement route optimization strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.
Supplier & Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party carriers, suppliers, and service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective transport solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation management, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a transport or logistics management role, ideally within a similar industry.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, logistics processes, and safety standards.
Proven ability to manage budgets and optimize costs.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in transport management software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Fluent in Dutch and English (both written and spoken).
