With over 8 million square miles of warehouse space in operation, this global leader in Contract Logistics is looking to expand their team, starting with a Operations Manager to oversee their Diemelstadt site. Working closely with the Site Manager to ensure this new site is running at its full operational capabilities.
Responsibilities
Responsibility: You will control and optimize all operational processes with the goal of 100% customer satisfaction.
Team leadership with vision: You will lead and develop your warehouse team (m/f/d) both professionally and disciplinarily, coordinate the deployment of personnel and take care of personnel requirements reports as well as orders from service providers.
Customer contact at eye level: As a single point of contact (POC) for the customer, you will ensure compliance with and continuous improvement of quality and performance indicators.
Ensure efficiency: You will control, monitor and optimize operational processes and ensure compliance with all legal and internal occupational health and safety guidelines.
Promote further development: You will ensure a structured induction of new employees and provide support through targeted training and development measures.
Employee appraisals & coaching: You will accompany your team through regular feedback meetings and promote individual development.
Showing responsibility: You will represent the site manager and take over the planning and approval of vacations for your team.
Skills
Professional qualifications: Completed university degree, ideally in logistics, business administration, economics (economics) or a comparable discipline - alternatively, appropriate further training in the logistics sector.
Professional Experience & Leadership Skills: Several years of experience in contract logistics as well as in leading larger teams (approx. 200 employees) in a comparable position.
Operational expertise: In-depth knowledge of operational logistics as well as experience with QSHE methodologies such as Lean Management, Kaizen and Six Sigma.
Language competence: Fluent in German and English.
Project Management & Soft Skills: Initial experience in project management is an advantage. You convince with strong communication skills, social skills and leadership qualities.
Personal strengths: Assertiveness, analytical and problem-solving mindset, innovative strength and an affinity for numbers.
Dynamism & Hands-on Mentality: You react flexibly to new business challenges, take on responsibility and enjoy working in a team.
