Field Application Engineer - RF
About the Opportunity
A global leader in semiconductor test and automation technologies is seeking a Field Application Engineer to support next-generation RF and Silicon Photonics devices. This customer-facing role combines semiconductor test development, applications engineering, technical consulting, and advanced test solution deployment for leading semiconductor manufacturers.
What You'll Do
- Develop and deploy test solutions for RF, Silicon Photonics, SoC, Mixed-Signal, Analog, and High-Speed Digital devices
- Collaborate with customer engineering teams to improve test processes and manufacturing performance
- Create and debug semiconductor test programs
- Support production releases, characterization activities, and test correlation efforts
- Review probe card and load board designs
- Provide hardware, PCB, interface, and test cell integration guidance
- Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, and customer training
- Troubleshoot complex test and manufacturing challenges
- Build long-term technical relationships with customers
- Support customer evaluations and demonstrate tester capabilities
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 6-10 years of semiconductor test industry experience
- Hands-on IC test development experience
- RF test engineering and product engineering experience
- Experience developing solutions on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platforms
- Strong programming skills in C#, C++, C, Java, or VB.NET
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Strong customer-facing communication abilities
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (Up to 25%)

Preferred Experience
- Silicon Photonics testing
- SoC, HPC, Analog, Mixed-Signal, or High-Speed Digital devices
- Experience working with Teradyne UltraFlex or UltraFlexPlus, Advantest V93K, IG-XL, SmarTest 7, or SmarTest 8 platforms.
- Handler and prober integration
- Technical leadership experience
