Head of Supply Chain

Head of Supply Chain

Location: San Francisco, CA | Hybrid / Onsite
Industry: AI Hardware / Consumer Electronics / DTC eCommerce
Compensation: $160,000-$180,000 + Equity

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a hyper-growth, venture-backed AI hardware company that is looking to hire its Head of Supply Chain.

This will be the first senior supply chain hire and an opportunity to build the end-to-end supply chain function from the ground up. The company is scaling rapidly across DTC/eCommerce, Amazon, retail, and international channels and needs someone who can create the strategy while remaining close to day-to-day execution.

This is not a role for someone looking to inherit a mature supply chain organization. The right person will be comfortable being both strategic and extremely hands-on, working directly with founders and senior leadership to build the processes, systems, partnerships, and team required for the company's next phase of growth.

What You'll Own

  • Build and lead the company's end-to-end supply chain strategy across demand planning, supply planning, inventory, logistics, fulfillment, and 3PL operations.
  • Own demand forecasting across products, SKUs, and sales channels.
  • Develop inventory strategy, including safety stock, reorder points, days of coverage, inventory turns, and replenishment policies.
  • Translate demand forecasts into purchase-order and supply recommendations while balancing availability, working capital, lead times, and inventory risk.
  • Manage inventory allocation across DTC, Amazon, retail, and international channels.
  • Own relationships and performance management across 3PLs, warehouses, freight providers, and fulfillment partners.
  • Develop strategies around inbound freight, last-mile delivery, inventory placement, fulfillment speed, and cost per order.
  • Partner with manufacturing and suppliers to improve capacity planning, production timing, lead-time management, and supply continuity.
  • Build scalable planning processes and operating cadences, including S&OP, forecasting reviews, inventory-risk reviews, and supplier/3PL performance management.
  • Develop the systems, KPIs, dashboards, and analytics required to provide leadership with accurate supply chain visibility.
  • Identify and onboard new 3PL, logistics, returns, freight, and supply chain partners as the business expands.
  • Eventually build and develop the broader supply chain organization as the company scales.

What They're Looking For

  • Experience owning significant portions of the end-to-end supply chain for a physical-product business.
  • Strong preference for experience in consumer hardware, consumer electronics, DTC/eCommerce, connected devices, or another high-growth consumer product environment.
  • Strong background in demand forecasting and supply planning.
  • Experience managing inventory strategy, replenishment, safety stock, reorder points, lead times, and working capital.
  • Direct experience with 3PLs, warehouses, freight, logistics, and customer fulfillment.
  • Experience working with international manufacturers and/or suppliers.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with Excel / Google Sheets and supply chain systems.
  • Comfortable working with imperfect data and building systems and processes where none currently exist.
  • Commercially minded and able to communicate complex supply chain decisions clearly to founders and senior leadership.
  • Able to move seamlessly between strategy and execution.
