Our client, a leading global freight forwarder and logistics provider, is looking for an Ocean Import & Export Specialist to join their growing team in Antwerp.
This is an exciting opportunity for a logistics professional who enjoys managing international shipments, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring cargo moves seamlessly across global supply chains.
What You'll Be Doing
As an Ocean Import & Export Specialist, you'll be responsible for managing both import and export shipments from start to finish, ensuring efficient delivery while providing exceptional service to customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating end-to-end ocean import and export shipments
- Managing bookings with shipping lines, overseas offices, and transport providers
- Preparing, reviewing, and processing import and export documentation
- Arranging customs-related documentation and ensuring compliance requirements are met
- Monitoring shipment progress and proactively resolving operational issues
- Providing customers with regular updates and handling inquiries
- Coordinating inland transportation, terminals, and third-party logistics providers
- Maintaining accurate shipment records and supporting invoicing activities
- Working closely with internal departments and international partners to ensure smooth operations
What We're Looking For
- Experience within ocean freight forwarding operations, covering import, export, or both
- Strong understanding of international shipping processes and documentation
- Knowledge of customs procedures and trade compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and customer-focused mindset
- Fluency in Dutch and English
