Lead Critical Aerospace Programs from Proposal to Qualification

Our client is a well-established aerospace and defense manufacturer whose products support mission-critical operations across military and commercial aviation platforms worldwide. They are seeking a Project Engineer to take ownership of complex engineering programs, serving as the link between customers, engineering, operations, supply chain, and testing teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys driving programs forward, collaborating across multiple functions, and having direct visibility with customers. You'll be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle, from proposal development and planning through qualification testing, design reviews, documentation, and final delivery.

Unlike traditional design engineering positions, this role offers a unique blend of technical engineering, project leadership, customer interaction, and program execution.

What You'll Do

  • Lead engineering projects from proposal through qualification and product delivery
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, manufacturing, quality, testing, and supply chain teams
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact for customers and program stakeholders
  • Support qualification efforts, test planning, procedures, reports, and technical documentation
  • Participate in design reviews and ensure project requirements are successfully executed
  • Track schedules, action items, deliverables, budgets, and project milestones
  • Support proposal development for new business opportunities
  • Manage engineering changes and configuration updates throughout project execution
  • Assist with troubleshooting activities, failure investigations, and corrective action efforts
  • Help drive projects to completion while maintaining customer expectations and delivery commitments

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • 4-8 years of engineering experience within aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or highly regulated industries
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional engineering projects
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills
  • Experience supporting testing, qualification, verification, validation, or product development activities
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive programs forward in a fast-paced environment
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Person status required

Preferred Experience

  • Aerospace or defense industry experience
  • Qualification or environmental testing experience
  • Design review participation (PDR, CDR, etc.)
  • Proposal development or bid support experience
  • Familiarity with configuration management and engineering change processes
  • Experience working with military, aviation, or mission-critical products

If you're an engineer who enjoys coordinating complex projects, working directly with customers, and helping bring advanced aerospace products from concept to reality, we'd love to speak with you. This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible role with meaningful technical responsibility and long-term growth potential within a growing aerospace organization.
