Battery Engineer

Summary:

DSJ Global has partnered with a leading aerospace power manufacturer who is looking to bring in a highly skilled Engineer with a background in the design, development, and testing of both new and existing battery systems.

Description:

• Contribute to the development of advanced cell and battery architecture that meet aerospace requirements.
• Model and analyze optimal cell and battery designs.
• Collaborate cross functionally with other Engineers to ensure proper cell packaging and integration.
• Verify and validate the design of test regimes to characterize and validate performance at the cell and battery level.
• Document technical reports of test results and performance characteristics to internal teams and customers.
• Drive sustainable engineering activities to enhance the performance and reliability of existing battery products.
• Investigate battery failures (RMAs) and identify root causes, and contribute to corrective action plans.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to help position products effectively in the market.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in battery design, development, and testing.
• Working knowledge of battery cell fundamentals, including impedance, testing methods, and Liion failure modes.
• Familiarity with battery test equipment and data analysis.
• Effective communicator with the ability to document and explain technical work clearly.
• Knowledge of MATLAB and SolidWorks.
• Understanding of FAA regulations and aerospace qualification processes.
