Salary: $158,000 - $170,000 + 18% bonus + full relo

Summary:

A reputable shipbuilding company is seeking an experienced, hands-on Chief Marine Engineer in Vancouver, WA.

Responsibilities:

The ideal Chief Marine Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provides engineering leadership for vessel programs, coordinating with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, project management, and production teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Oversees vessel design and engineering activities across Naval Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines, including calculations, technical reviews, and 3D modeling.
  • Leads engineering reviews, resolves design and production issues, manages engineering staff and subcontractors, and ensures adherence to engineering standards and vessel build plans.
  • Develops and maintains engineering documentation, standards, procedures, design libraries, production drawings, work packages, and customer-facing deliverables such as RFIs, submittals, ECRs, and NCRs.
  • Supports vessel construction through hands-on shipyard involvement, production coordination, technical problem-solving, mentoring engineers, and ensuring engineering deliverables align with project schedules and fabrication requirements.

Qualifications:

The ideal Chief Marine Engineer will have the following skill set:

  • B.S. degree in either Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years of leading design and engineering teams
  • Experience using SolidWorks and/or Ship Constructor
  • Must be A US Citizen due to the nature of this role
