The Director of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) will lead the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs across all packaging operations. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture and driving sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in EHS management within manufacturing or packaging environments and a passion for operational excellence.
The Director of Environmental, Health & Safety will be responsible for:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and mentor EHS teams across multiple packaging facilities to ensure consistent implementation of policies and procedures.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations; implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety performance metrics (TRIR, DART, near misses, etc.).
- Champion sustainability initiatives including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and environmental stewardship.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and HR to integrate EHS into daily business practices.
- Prepare and present EHS performance reports to executive leadership.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
The Director of Environmental, Health & Safety will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or packaging, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant regulations.
