Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager
DSJ Global is currently partnered with a rapidly growing manufacturer looking to bring on a Global Logistics & Trade Compliance Manager.
The Global Trade & Logistics Manager is responsible for leading and improving all activities related to the international movement of goods. This role ensures the global supply chain is efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with all applicable international and regional trade laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement global freight strategies to drive supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
Serve as the organization's expert on import/export regulations, trade compliance, and customs requirements.
Manage relationships with freight carriers and brokers, focusing on performance, cost control, and service level agreements.
Approve and negotiate inbound freight quotes for full container, less-than-container, and air shipments.
Define freight options and pricing for new trade lanes and routes.
Advise on trade compliance topics including Incoterms, country of origin rules, and customs valuation.
Provide regulatory guidance on IATA and IMO standards, especially for dangerous goods.
Represent the company during customs audits and ensure readiness for regulatory inspections.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
At least 5 years of experience managing international freight and broker relationships.
Deep understanding of international and domestic hazardous goods shipping regulations.
Proficient with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, particularly for U.S. and EU regions.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all organizational levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
