Lab Technician
Location: Role will be based in the Stamford office with 1-2 days per week at Torrington location.
Are you passionate about engineering and product innovation? Join our team as a Lab Technician, where you'll play a key role in ensuring the quality and performance of cutting-edge products. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with Engineering and Marketing teams, work hands-on with electro-mechanical systems, and contribute to the success of exciting projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Engineering and Marketing teams with testing and reporting on existing, new, and competitive products.
- Manage multiple assignments while meeting customer expectations.
- Test, evaluate, and troubleshoot new and existing products.
- Conduct competitive product evaluations and root cause analysis for field failures and returns.
- Maintain test equipment and apparatus.
- Develop, execute, and document test procedures in collaboration with Project Engineers.
- Create test report templates, equipment manuals, and care guidelines.
- Engineer product specifications based on equipment and test requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Contribute to additional projects and tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Hands-on experience with design, testing, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical products.
- Background in product testing or machine shop environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to design/build custom test fixtures.
- Proficiency with standard test equipment and gauging.
- Familiarity with approval agencies and test methodologies.
- Working knowledge of 3D design software (SolidWorks, Creo/ProE) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Environment
- Standard office setting.
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- On-site presence required Monday through Friday.
