Maintenance Manager

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at a large-scale production facility. This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, developing maintenance strategies, leading a skilled maintenance workforce, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all plant assets.

The Maintenance Manager will partner closely with plant leadership, engineering, operations, and corporate stakeholders to support production objectives, improve maintenance performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and oversees a team of approximately 35 maintenance professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all maintenance functions to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
  • Develop, implement, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and departmental objectives.
  • Manage maintenance planning and execution, including preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Oversee maintenance work order systems, asset management processes, and spare parts inventory.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve maintenance procedures and best practices.
  • Drive equipment reliability initiatives to reduce downtime and improve operational performance.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and corporate teams to implement maintenance strategies and continuous improvement programs.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and evaluate maintenance personnel to build a high-performing team.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Promote strong communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience leading and developing maintenance teams.
  • Experience within food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Strong understanding of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
  • Experience managing maintenance planning, scheduling, spare parts inventories, and maintenance performance metrics.
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), CMMS, SAP, or similar maintenance management systems.
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and industrial safety requirements.
  • Multi-craft maintenance knowledge including mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
  • PLC troubleshooting and programming experience is beneficial.
  • Prior experience supporting or maintaining industrial ammonia refrigeration systems is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management software platforms.

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and manufacturing floor responsibilities.
  • Regular exposure to industrial production environments, including machinery, forklifts, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
  • Frequent walking, standing, and navigating production areas.
