Strategic Marketing Lead

The Strategic Marketing Lead shapes growth strategy within the building materials sector, driving market assessment, competitive intelligence, and strategic initiatives that support both organic and inorganic growth. This role partners closely with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams to translate market insights into actionable strategic direction for the building materials business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Growth & Marketing Strategy

  • Drive strategic initiatives related to market growth, customer insights, and competitive positioning.
  • Collaborate with product, digital, and functional leaders to identify high‑value marketing opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization to ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Convert market, customer, and competitor insights into clear strategic recommendations.

2. Market Intelligence & Opportunity Assessment

  • Evaluate adjacent markets, customer segments, and ecosystems relevant to building materials.
  • Conduct data‑driven assessments to determine optimal growth pathways (build, buy, partner).
  • Support valuation modeling, synergy sizing, and due diligence for potential opportunities.
  • Ensure customer and channel insights are integrated throughout strategic evaluations.

3. Strategic Analysis & Executive Storytelling

  • Lead market research, business case development, and analytical workstreams.
  • Synthesize complex data into concise recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Create executive‑ready presentations with clear logic, assumptions, and strategic implications.
  • Identify risks and critical diligence issues, escalating as necessary.

4. Long‑Range Planning & Strategic Alignment

  • Contribute to long‑range planning, strategic reviews, and leadership communications.
  • Partner with senior teams to develop strategic narratives and growth roadmaps.
  • Support enterprise initiatives related to adjacencies and broader market expansion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5+ years in strategic marketing, strategy, or market intelligence within B2B settings.
  • Strong analytical capability and comfort working with ambiguity.
  • Proven experience influencing across matrixed organizations.
  • Skilled in strategic planning, market assessment, and communication.
