An aerospace company in Morris County, NJ is looking to bring a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on production efficiency, manufacturing processes, tooling development, and facility operations while supporting highly engineered products used in demanding applications.
What You'll Do
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes, workflows, and production methods to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Design and optimize factory layouts, cell configurations, material flow, and space utilization.
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including routings, work instructions, SOPs, and build books.
- Partner with production teams to troubleshoot manufacturing, assembly, and test-related issues.
- Evaluate engineering drawings and product designs for manufacturability and efficiency improvements.
- Support tooling, fixture, equipment, and automation initiatives across the facility.
- Drive continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing projects to improve quality, throughput, and productivity.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Process Engineer, or similar role.
- Experience supporting production environments and manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience creating manufacturing processes, work instructions, routings, and production documentation.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, or similar platforms.
Preferred Experience
- Aerospace, defense, aviation, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Machining and manufacturing of precision components.
- AS9100 quality systems experience.
- Robotics, automation, or PLC exposure.
