Marketing Director
Overview
A well-established consulting firm in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry is seeking a Marketing Director to lead proposal development, pursuit strategy, business development support, and brand initiatives. This individual will work closely with firm leadership, technical professionals, and market sector leaders to drive growth, strengthen client relationships, and improve win rates across strategic pursuits.
This is a highly visible leadership role offering the opportunity to influence business strategy, oversee pursuit activities, and contribute to the continued growth of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full pursuit lifecycle, including RFQs, RFPs, interview presentations, and qualifications packages
- Develop pursuit strategies, facilitate go/no-go discussions, and support teaming decisions for new opportunities
- Collaborate with technical staff, project managers, and leadership to create compelling, compliant proposal responses
- Coordinate and oversee client interview preparation, presentation development, and pursuit-related communications
- Conduct win/loss debriefs and implement process improvements based on client feedback and market trends
- Support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities and tracking pursuits through various procurement platforms
- Manage proposal resources, content libraries, resumes, project profiles, and marketing databases
- Oversee branding, marketing collateral, website content, social media efforts, and external communications
- Train and mentor technical staff on proposal development, presentation skills, and marketing best practices
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and professional organizations to strengthen market presence
- Support internal events, employee engagement initiatives, and firmwide communication efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 8+ years of experience in AEC marketing, proposal management, business development support, or pursuit management
- Strong experience managing RFQs, RFPs, proposals, and interview presentations
- Knowledge of AEC industry terminology, procurement processes, and qualifications-based selection
- Experience working directly with engineers, architects, planners, or technical professionals
- Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with CRM and proposal management systems such as Deltek, GovWin, or similar tools preferred
- CPSM certification (or pursuit of certification) is a plus
