Title: Process Controls Engineer
Location: Baron, WI area (Relocation Assistance Available)
Base Compensation: $100,000 - $115,000 + up to 20% bonus
SUMMARY
A leading specialty paper manufacturer is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to support and enhance mill-wide automation, instrumentation, and control systems. This role will focus on improving process reliability, optimizing production performance, supporting capital projects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across a complex manufacturing operation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and improve DCS, PLC, HMI, and industrial network systems throughout the facility.
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot control strategies, machine logic, and operator interfaces.
- Lead process optimization efforts through control loop tuning, data analysis, and performance monitoring.
- Partner with operations and maintenance teams to identify and resolve process and equipment issues.
- Maintain instrumentation, electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, and related automation equipment.
- Utilize process historians and manufacturing data to identify improvement opportunities and reduce downtime.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Process Controls, or related discipline) - preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of DCS, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial communications networks.
- Experience with instrumentation, electrical systems, motor controls, and variable frequency drives
- Experience in paper, pulp, tissue, chemical, or other continuous-process manufacturing environments is preferred.
