Sr. HR Generalist
Position Summary:
This role serves as a key on-site HR partner within a unionized manufacturing environment, supporting both plant leadership and employees across daily operations. The position focuses on executing HR strategy, strengthening labor relations, and driving performance, engagement, and compliance at the facility level.
Sr. HR Generalist will have the following responsibilities:- Act as the on-site HR lead for a unionized manufacturing facility, providing day-to-day support to employees, supervisors, and plant leadership
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies, labor agreements, and organizational standards while partnering with senior HR leadership on complex labor matters
- Support employee and labor relations activities, including investigations, grievance handling, and disciplinary processes
- Coach frontline leaders on performance management, employee relations best practices, and proper documentation in a union environment
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and workforce planning efforts for both hourly and salaried populations
- Support training, compliance, and change initiatives to reinforce workplace standards, leadership effectiveness, and organizational alignment
- Monitor key HR metrics (turnover, attendance, discipline) and collaborate with leadership to improve engagement and plant culture
Sr. HR Generalist should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- 4+ years of broad HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience supporting employee relations; union/labor exposure preferred
- Demonstrated ability to partner with operations leadership in a plant setting
- HR certification (PHR, SPHR, etc.) preferred
- Experience with HR systems (e.g., Workday) a plus
