Overview

A leading firearms manufacturer is seeking a CNC Programmer to support product development initiatives through prototype fabrication, machining, and model shop operations. This position plays a critical role in bringing new firearm and accessory concepts to life through precision machining, collaborative engineering support, and hands-on prototype development.

The ideal candidate combines advanced machining expertise with strong CNC programming capabilities and the ability to work closely with design engineers throughout the product development process.

What You'll Do

  • Provide machining support for firearm and accessory development projects.
  • Manufacture prototype components from CAD models, drawings, and design specifications.
  • Collaborate with Product Design Engineers during concept development and prototyping.
  • Program and operate CNC equipment to produce high-precision components.
  • Select appropriate tooling, materials, and fixturing solutions.
  • Support testing and validation efforts through measurement and data collection.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
  • Produce prototypes for visualization, functional testing, validation, and live-fire evaluation.
  • Contribute feedback to improve manufacturability and design effectiveness.

What You'll Bring

  • Tool & Die Maker Journeyman certification.
  • Experience in precision machining and prototype development environments.
  • Background within firearms, aerospace, automotive, medical device, or similar industries.
  • CNC programming experience using Mastercam.
  • Proficiency interpreting CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Experience using precision measurement equipment including CMMs, comparators, calipers, and height gauges.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks and Creo/PTC.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced product development environment.
