About Opportunity

Our client who's a reputable European Garment Group is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Managing Director- Apparel to lead and grow its operations in Bangladesh. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing business performance, operational excellence, stakeholder management, and long-term growth initiatives across the country.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, developing high-performing teams, and ensuring the organization is well-positioned to achieve its business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall Bangladesh business, ensuring the achievement of financial, operational, and strategic objectives.
  • Drive operational excellence across manufacturing, supply chain, sourcing, logistics, and/or commercial functions.
  • Develop and execute business plans aligned with regional and global objectives.
  • Manage P&L performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Build, mentor, and lead local management teams to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Strengthen relationships with key customers, suppliers, government authorities, and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth, operational improvements, and market expansion.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to regional and global leadership teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role such Country Manager, Managing Director, Operations Director, or Business Unit Head.
  • Strong experience within manufacturing and sourcing in apparel and packaging sectors.
  • Demonstrated success managing large teams and driving organizational growth.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing financial performance and P&L responsibilities.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders across multiple functions and cultures.
  • Experience working within multinational organizations is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in Bangladesh or other emerging manufacturing markets in Asia would be advantageous.
