A manufacturer of custom-engineered power conversion and electrical equipment is seeking a Plant Manager to lead all manufacturing operations at its Connecticut facility. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for production, planning, materials, purchasing, inventory, safety, quality, delivery performance, and continuous improvement within a project-driven manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead all manufacturing operations and production personnel.
- Oversee production planning, scheduling, capacity, materials, purchasing, and inventory functions.
- Drive safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and financial performance.
- Manage labor utilization, budgets, and operational KPIs.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S principles.
- Ensure customer delivery commitments are achieved.
- Develop supervisors and build organizational capability through coaching and succession planning.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Project Management, Procurement, Finance, and Sales.
- Support growth initiatives, process optimization, and operational excellence programs.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
- Experience leading production operations, personnel, and budgets.
- Strong background in production planning, scheduling, materials management, and inventory control.
- ERP/MRP experience.
- Proven Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement experience.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience in custom-engineered or project-based manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
- Experience with transformers, rectifiers, electrical equipment, or industrial power products highly preferred.
