About the Company
A global leader in semiconductor manufacturing is seeking a Project Planning Engineer to support large-scale construction and infrastructure projects across North Asia. This role focuses on project scheduling, cashflow forecasting, reporting, automation, and AI-driven planning tools that improve project visibility and decision-making.
The Role
You will be responsible for developing and managing project planning standards, forecasting models, reporting systems, and digital solutions that support a portfolio of major construction projects. Working closely with project, finance, procurement, and site teams, you will help drive consistent planning processes, accurate forecasts, and data-driven project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain scheduling standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Review project schedules, forecasts, and planning assumptions.
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and support recovery planning.
- Drive schedule governance across multiple construction projects.
Forecasting & Cashflow Management
- Consolidate and manage project cashflow forecasts.
- Track forecast accuracy and spending performance.
- Analyze variances and provide financial planning insights.
- Support long-term planning and budget forecasting activities.
Reporting, Analytics & Automation
- Develop dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI and related tools.
- Create automated workflows to improve reporting efficiency and data quality.
- Maintain project reporting platforms and governance processes.
- Deliver project performance reports and executive-level presentations.
Digital Transformation & AI
- Leverage AI and automation to improve forecasting, reporting, and project controls.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization through digital tools.
- Support the adoption of innovative planning technologies across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in project planning, project controls, scheduling, or construction management.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling, forecasting, and portfolio reporting.
- Experience with Power BI, Excel, and automation tools such as Power Query, Power Automate, VBA, or Python.
- Experience supporting large capital construction projects is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English; Japanese is a plus.
