VP of Procurement - Energy Services
We are seeking a seasoned Vice President of Procurement - Energy Services to lead national procurement strategy across regulated and deregulated electricity, natural gas, and related energy services. This executive will architect industry‑leading pricing models, build advanced hedging programs, manage contract risk services, and ensure reliable, cost‑effective energy supply across a substantial national portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement strategy for electricity, natural gas, and related energy services across all U.S. markets-regulated and deregulated.
- Ensure reliable power supply while managing substantial, multi‑state energy costs.
- Develop multi‑year sourcing strategies, competitive supplier events, and forward procurement plans.
- Build industry‑leading pricing models including load forecasting, margin strategy, and market‑responsive pricing frameworks.
- Oversee real‑time pricing validation and competitive analytics to maintain top‑tier market performance.
- Design and oversee enterprise‑level hedging strategies utilizing futures, options, swaps, structured products, and other risk tools.
- Lead contract risk‑management services, ensuring pricing accuracy, hedging alignment, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage creation and validation of custom transaction agreements, confirming accurate execution of pricing and hedge activities.
- Serve as a lead negotiator for Master Purchasing Agreements, partnering closely with procurement, legal counsel, and executive leadership.
- Develop and manage contracts that protect commercial interests while ensuring flexibility, supply stability, and cost control.
- Apply deep working knowledge of major U.S. markets, including PJM, NYISO, ERCOT, and familiarity with others (ISO‑NE, MISO, CAISO, SPP).
- Integrate ISO/RTO insights into pricing, hedging, and procurement strategies.
- Hold full P&L responsibility for procurement and energy services operations.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high‑performing national team across sourcing, pricing, risk management, and market operations.
- Partner with legal, finance, operations, and executive management to support enterprise‑wide objectives.
What You Bring
- 15+ years of experience in energy procurement, energy services, utilities, commodity trading, or risk management.
- Strong background in sourcing and contracting for electricity and natural gas across multiple markets.
- Demonstrated expertise in hedging strategies (futures, options, swaps) and wholesale/retail energy dynamics.
- Experience developing or overseeing pricing engines, market models, and competitive supply strategies.
- Proven success negotiating large‑scale contracts and managing complex supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of ISO/RTO structures such as PJM, NYISO, ERCOT, and other major U.S. markets.
- Executive presence with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong financial and operational acumen, including P&L management
