Our client is a leader in the seafood processing industry, committed to delivering high-quality, sustainable products to our customers. With a strong emphasis on food safety, operational efficiency, and environmental responsibility, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Plant Manager to oversee production at their facility.


Position Summary

The Plant Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the seafood production plant, including production planning, personnel management, safety compliance, and product quality. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that our facility runs smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of daily plant operations including processing, packaging, sanitation, and maintenance.

  • Manage and develop a high-performing team including supervisors and line workers.

  • Ensure compliance with all food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, BRC, FDA, SQF) and internal quality assurance protocols.

  • Oversee production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize efficiency.

  • Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement in yield, throughput, labor, and waste.

  • Coordinate with other departments such as QA, logistics, HR, and procurement to align operations.

  • Enforce health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Control operational costs and identify areas for savings or process improvement.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a plant or operations management role within the food or seafood processing industry.

  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality assurance systems, and production best practices.

  • Proven leadership experience managing diverse teams in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP or production tracking systems.

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Operations, Business Management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
