Bilingual SHEQ Manager
A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Bilingual SHEQ Manager to lead site-wide Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality programs. This key leadership role will drive regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, quality systems, and workplace safety initiatives across a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong quality and EHS experience, Lean manufacturing knowledge, and a passion for building a culture of operational excellence and accountability.
The responsibilities of the SHEQ Manager will include:
- Drive process improvement and operational excellence through Statistical Process Control (SPC), data analysis, and performance metrics.
- Lead quality initiatives utilizing PFMEA, process mapping, control plans, and process capability studies to meet customer and business requirements.
- Monitor and improve Cost of Quality (CoQ) metrics, including scrap, rework, customer returns, prevention, and warranty performance.
- Champion Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Quality System enhancements to increase efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Facilitate and coach teams on Lean tools including Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Quick Changeover, and Mistake Proofing.
- Partner closely with Operations to support production goals, optimize processes, and ensure consistent product quality.
- Analyze and leverage KPIs and quality metrics to proactively identify risks and drive defect reduction.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the onsite Quality team while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Manage the Hold for Inspection (HFI) process, ensuring effective communication, tracking, and resolution of quality concerns.
- Investigate customer complaints and quality issues, implementing root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) to drive lasting solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify quality gaps, eliminate defects, and improve manufacturing performance.
- Lead internal audits, quality reviews, and management reporting to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports, trends, and recommendations to plant and corporate leadership.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
- Manage employee health, safety, and compliance training programs, ensuring accurate records and timely completion.
- Travel to support multi-site quality initiatives, share best practices, and lead problem-solving efforts across facilities.
The ideal EHS Manager will have the following skillset:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Health & Safety or Business Management.
- Minimum 5 years of quality experience in a high volume fast-paced manufacturing operation.
- Must be Bilingual with Spanish literacy
- Must have experience with preventive quality engineering techniques such as PFMEA, control plans, process mapping.
- Must have experience being involved with and/or leading EHS-related items or projects.
- Certifications in Environmental or Health & Safety related programs preferred.
- OSHA30 certification a plus.
- Knowledge of and experience with utilizing Lean manufacturing practices.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification a plus.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Strong problem solver with good work ethic and decision-making skills.
- Microsoft Office experience required.
