About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established international lifestyle fashion brand with a strong presence across Asia Pacific. As part of its continued regional growth strategy, the company is seeking an experienced Commercial Director, APAC (Fashion Retail) to lead commercial performance across wholesale distribution, franchise partnerships, direct-to-consumer retail, online platform channels throughout the region.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, strengthening partner relationships, and leading cross-functional teams across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute regional sales and market expansion strategies to accelerate revenue growth and profitability across APAC.
  • Identify new market opportunities, evaluate expansion feasibility, and develop business cases for emerging markets and channels.
  • Drive sustainable growth across wholesale, franchise, retail, and ecommerce businesses.

Wholesale & Franchise Management

  • Build and manage strategic relationships with distributors, franchise partners, key accounts, and commercial stakeholders across the region.
  • Support business partners through seasonal planning, product selection, forecasting, and inventory management.
  • Ensure strong alignment between brand objectives and partner business plans.

Retail Leadership

  • Oversee commercial performance across owned retail stores and ecommerce channels.
  • Collaborate with retail and digital teams to optimize sales performance, customer engagement, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory productivity and implement initiatives to maximize sell-through and profitability.

Market Intelligence & Performance Analysis

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities.
  • Utilize sales and business performance data to drive decision-making and optimize commercial strategies.
  • Establish performance metrics and regularly review regional business results against targets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to ensure alignment on regional growth initiatives.
  • Support the successful execution of product launches, promotional campaigns, and strategic business projects.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years of commercial, sales, wholesale, retail, or business management experience, ideally within lifestyle fashion or sportswear industries.
  • Proven track record managing regional wholesale distribution and franchise networks across Asia Pacific.
  • Strong understanding of DTC retail operations, ecommerce, and omnichannel business models.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering revenue growth and market expansion across multiple countries.
  • Experience leading high-performing regional teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen with experience using data to drive business decisions.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Asia Pacific.
  • Fluency of English and Chinese is desired
