Commodity Manager (Sourcing Specialist)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead supplier selection activities, including supplier identification, evaluation, comparison, and final recommendation using structured sourcing and bid analysis processes.
- Execute competitive sourcing events, including development of RFQs/RFPs, bid tabulations, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership evaluations.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, lead times, and contractual conditions; ensure outcomes are clearly documented in purchase orders and agreements.
- Issue and manage purchase orders and supplier contracts in alignment with internal policies and compliance requirements.
- Partner with Planning to support inventory strategies such as MOQ optimization, safety stock, VMI/Kanban, and consignment programs.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and Logistics to achieve cost, quality, delivery, and continuity of supply objectives.
- Participate in regular supplier business reviews focused on performance metrics, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct supplier site assessments to evaluate production capabilities, capacity, quality systems, delivery performance, and overall risk.
- Monitor supplier performance and proactively identify supply, cost, or quality risks; implement mitigation and corrective action plans.
- Support continuous improvement within sourcing and procurement processes, including standardization, documentation, and efficiency initiatives.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to support sourcing decisions and evaluate proposed material or process changes.
- Support new product launches and engineering changes by ensuring material readiness, managing SOP timing, and minimizing material obsolescence exposure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading supplier selection and supplier evaluation processes, including bid analysis and negotiations.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, sourcing strategies, and end‑to‑end supply chain principles.
- Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable sourcing decisions.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and standard business software tools.
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI and AI‑enabled tools is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams and external suppliers.
- Solid knowledge of commercial sourcing, contracting, and negotiation best practices.
- Experience applying continuous improvement methodologies in procurement or supplier development.
- Professional certifications such as CPM, CPSM, CPIM, or CSCP are preferred.

- $95,000 base salary and Full Relocation Assistance
