Vice President of Product Quality
Overview:
Our client is seeking a Vice President of Product Quality to lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide quality strategies. This role is responsible for ensuring product excellence across the full lifecycle-from New Product Introduction (NPI) through full-scale production-while driving continuous improvement across internal operations and contract manufacturing partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive product quality strategy aligned with business objectives and customer expectations
- Lead quality initiatives across New Product Introduction (NPI) to ensure robust design transfer, process validation, and launch readiness
- Oversee quality performance within contract manufacturing (CM/OEM/ODM) networks, ensuring consistent standards, compliance, and accountability
- Establish and monitor KPIs to drive improvements in product reliability, yield, and customer satisfaction
- Build and scale quality systems, including supplier quality, incoming inspection, production quality, and field performance monitoring
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and R&D to embed quality early in the product lifecycle
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for complex quality issues
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
- Mentor and develop a high-performing global quality organization
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of progressive experience in quality leadership within a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience supporting NPI cycles, including design transfer and production ramp-up
- Strong background managing contract manufacturers and global supplier quality networks
- Demonstrated success implementing scalable quality systems and driving measurable performance improvements
- Experience with quality methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or equivalent
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in highly regulated or complex manufacturing environments (e.g., industrial, automotive, aerospace, medical devices)
- Global leadership experience across multiple sites or regions
