DSJ Global is partnering with a rapidly expanding international logistics organisation seeking a dynamic Country Manager to lead their Dutch operations. This is a pivotal role for an energetic, commercially driven leader eager to shape the next phase of growth within a high-performing freight forwarding environment.

About the Role

The Country Manager will hold full responsibility for steering both commercial development and operational delivery across the Netherlands. This position suits an entrepreneurial leader who thrives on building business momentum, elevating service performance, and inspiring diverse teams.

Beyond national oversight, this role offers the opportunity to take on broader regional commercial responsibilities in alignment with the company's strategic ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and manage the full country P&L, ensuring sustainable profitability and long-term business stability.
  • Define and execute commercial strategies focused on winning new clients, expanding strategic accounts, and strengthening market positioning.
  • Oversee multimodal freight operations; air, ocean, and road - ensuring service excellence, compliance, and operational consistency.
  • Partner closely with internal functions to deliver tailored end-to-end logistics solutions that align with customer needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the national team, fostering a culture anchored in accountability, ambition, and passion for the logistics sector.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor movements, and evolving market demands to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Manage forecasting, budgeting, and financial performance to meet and exceed revenue and efficiency goals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain management, with a track record of combined commercial and operational leadership.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams and cultivating a client-first mindset.
  • Strong commercial strategist with the ability to convert opportunities into measurable business outcomes.
  • Deep enthusiasm for the logistics industry, reflected in leadership style and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic, evolving environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skilled communicator with strengths in negotiation, problem-solving, and relationship building.
  • Proven experience owning P&L, developing business strategies, and scaling customer portfolios.
  • International logistics exposure is a strong advantage.
