Development Engineer - HVAC & Heat Pump Systems
Location: Germany, Stuttgart
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a background in HVAC and heat pump system development to lead the mechanical design of next-generation, eco-friendly heating solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative technologies that support sustainability and energy efficiency across European markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design and development of HVAC and Air to Water Heat Pump systems using NX CAD.
- Design and localise components such as hydro units and integrated tanks.
- Support outsourced product development for systems including convectors and heat pump water heaters (HPWH).
- Address mechanical VOCs (Voice of Customer) and propose effective design solutions.
- Apply low-GWP refrigerants (e.g., R290, R32) in mechanical system design.
- Conduct competitor benchmarking and market analysis for mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with EU certification standards (e.g., Keymark, MCS, Eurovent, NFPAC).
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in HVAC or heat pump R&D.
- Mechanical design expertise using NX CAD or similar tools.
- Experience with low-GWP refrigerants and water piping systems.
- Strong understanding of structural development in HVAC or Air to Water Heat Pump systems.
- Familiarity with EU certification standards.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (e.g., Refrigeration or Air Conditioning Engineering).
- Background in heat/fluid mechanics preferred.
- Must be based in Europe.
- No automotive background.
- German language not required.
