Development Engineer - HVAC & Heat Pump Systems
Location: Germany, Stuttgart


We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a background in HVAC and heat pump system development to lead the mechanical design of next-generation, eco-friendly heating solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative technologies that support sustainability and energy efficiency across European markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical design and development of HVAC and Air to Water Heat Pump systems using NX CAD.
  • Design and localise components such as hydro units and integrated tanks.
  • Support outsourced product development for systems including convectors and heat pump water heaters (HPWH).
  • Address mechanical VOCs (Voice of Customer) and propose effective design solutions.
  • Apply low-GWP refrigerants (e.g., R290, R32) in mechanical system design.
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking and market analysis for mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with EU certification standards (e.g., Keymark, MCS, Eurovent, NFPAC).

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in HVAC or heat pump R&D.
  • Mechanical design expertise using NX CAD or similar tools.
  • Experience with low-GWP refrigerants and water piping systems.
  • Strong understanding of structural development in HVAC or Air to Water Heat Pump systems.
  • Familiarity with EU certification standards.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (e.g., Refrigeration or Air Conditioning Engineering).
  • Background in heat/fluid mechanics preferred.
  • Must be based in Europe.
  • No automotive background.
  • German language not required.
