Location: Northampton, Pennsylvania

Position Summary

The Director of Operations is responsible for leading warehouse, distribution, inventory management, and related operations across assigned facilities. This role ensures safe, efficient, and profitable operations while driving continuous improvement and high service levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct daily warehouse and distribution operations to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Lead and communicate operational best practices across multiple facilities
  • Initiate and oversee process improvement initiatives
  • Develop plans for efficient use of labor, equipment, and materials
  • Monitor costs, analyze financial performance, and recommend actions to improve profitability
  • Prepare and review budgets; ensure financial goals are met
  • Track, analyze, and communicate KPIs on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
  • Partner with customers and industry stakeholders to enhance service offerings
  • Ensure ISO compliance and operational standards are maintained
  • Participate in sales and marketing initiatives as needed
  • Ensure facilities have appropriate staffing and resources to meet business objectives
  • Lead and develop senior operations managers, managers, and account leaders
  • Interview, hire, train, and evaluate employees; manage performance and resolve issues
  • Promote and maintain a clean, safe work environment
  • For food-related operations, escalate food safety concerns to senior leadership
  • Travel as required (up to 75% initially, then 15-25%)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university (Master's preferred)
  • 7-10 years of related operations or logistics leadership experience
  • Experience with warehouse and distribution operations required
  • Knowledge of food-grade storage and handling preferred
  • Experience with inbound and outbound international shipments preferred
  • Familiarity with labor management systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
