Overview:

DSJ Global, a leading E2E supply chain and manufacturing recruitment firm is currently partnered with an industrial equipment manufacturing organization who are looking to add a Project Engineering Manager to their team in Charlotte, NC.

Role Summary:

The Director will be responsible for leading the Project Management and Field Service departments to successful execution of projects across the organization.

As the Project Engineer you will:

  • Serve as a member of the Business Unit leadership team, providing both tactical direction and strategic insight
  • Lead, mentor, and unify the Project Management and Field Service into a cohesive high-performing team
  • Cultivate a high-performance environment that values action, accountability, and continuous development
  • Model urgency, ownership, results-driven behavior, setting the tone for team culture
  • Establish clear KPIs and expectations ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Facilitate structured performance rhythms, including regular 1:1s, team huddles, and recurring department and cross functional meetings to promote communication, resolve roadblocks, and maintain execution momentum
  • Oversee all projects to ensure on-time, on-budget execution aligned with contract requirements
  • Lead escalation efforts to mitigate project risks before they affect scope, schedule, cost, or customer satisfaction
  • Manage and schedule all project workloads, ensuring quality, schedule adherence, and deliverables are met
  • Lead bi-weekly cross-functional project financial meetings for accurate forecasting and margin control
  • Drive adherence to Key Milestone Guidelines, ensuring consistent execution across the full project lifecycle

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership and management skills in a complex project management environment
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to negotiate positive outcomes in challenging situations
  • High proficiency in project management processes (PMP) and tools (e.g., Wrike, Epicor, etc.)
  • Strong background in scheduling, budgeting, and resource management
  • Expertise in project cost management through variations and EAC adjustments
  • Strong experience managing project cash flow through weekly progress billings
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered; PMP, PE, or MBA a plus
