Director of Strategic Accounts
Overview
The Director of Strategic Accounts is responsible for driving revenue growth within home‑channel retail customers while guiding and developing internal cross‑functional account teams. This role serves as a trusted advisor to customers, leads strategic initiatives, and ensures operational excellence across the full product lifecycle-from pricing and proposals to service performance and claims management.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Sales Leadership
- Grow sales by building strong, solution‑focused relationships with major home‑channel accounts.
- Identify and pursue new and future product opportunities.
- Deliver presentations, proposals, and agreements that support revenue and margin goals.
Cross-Functional Strategy & Collaboration
- Partner with sourcing, marketing, operations, customer service, and finance to execute integrated account strategies.
- Apply industry knowledge and internal processes to meet customer needs.
Account & Project Management
- Oversee lifecycle performance, including claims, returns, and service satisfaction.
- Maintain strong knowledge of customer organizational structures and expectations.
- Influence and improve internal processes related to sales, orders, communication, and problem resolution.
Leadership & Performance Management
- Set direction and priorities aligned with corporate goals.
- Track KPIs, provide reporting, and adjust strategies to deliver sales results.
- Model strong communication, selling skills, and project management.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support growth.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or marketing preferred.
- 4+ years managing customer relationships and driving revenue growth.
- MUST have experience in building materials (strong preference for hard-surface flooring).
- Preferred experience with big‑box retail environments.
- Regular national travel required.
- Proficiency with professional communication tools, data analysis, and reporting.
- Reliable vehicle capable of transporting product samples and displays.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must live within commuting distance of the Adairsville and Marietta, GA offices (rotation schedule).
