EHS Specialist

We're looking for a seasoned EHS professional to lead the development and execution of safety and environmental programs across our operations. This includes everything from internal labs and manufacturing spaces to external customer sites and construction zones. You'll play a key role in identifying risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a proactive safety culture across our teams and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement safety and environmental protocols to maintain a secure workplace.
  • Conduct safety walkthroughs and ergonomic assessments across all facilities.
  • Lead training programs on workplace hazards, emergency preparedness, and physical safety.
  • Develop sustainability initiatives aligned with our environmental goals (e.g., waste reduction, energy efficiency).
  • Manage documentation, permitting, and compliance tracking systems.
  • Train employees, contractors, and field technicians on EHS standards and procedures.
  • Create and maintain internal safety policies, training materials, and job hazard analyses.
  • Perform regular audits of labs, production areas, and office spaces.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and Cal/OSHA regulations.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal.
  • Develop site-specific safety plans for installations and deployments.
  • Ensure compliance with construction safety regulations at all levels.
  • Conduct field audits and risk assessments at customer and contractor locations.
  • Represent Mytra during on-site mobilizations and installations.
  • Coordinate safety efforts with general contractors, site owners, and subcontractors.
  • Enforce protocols for lockout/tagout, confined space entry, fall protection, and other critical safety areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in EHS, ideally within manufacturing, construction, or field deployment settings.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA 1926/1910, EPA regulations, and local safety codes.
  • Experience managing safety in environments involving robotics or equipment installation.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with customers and contractors.
  • Willingness to travel regularly and work in dynamic field conditions.
  • OSHA 30-Hour (Construction or General Industry)
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CHST, or equivalent
  • First Aid/CPR and HAZWOPER
