We are partnered with a leading industrial manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Electrical / Controls Engineer to support plant operations, automation, and maintenance reliability. This is a high-impact role within a fast-paced production environment where you'll play a key role in driving equipment performance, reducing downtime, and improving overall operational efficiency.
About the Role
This position blends hands-on technical work with leadership and reliability strategy. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting and improving automation systems while also supporting maintenance planning, continuous improvement initiatives, and team coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs (Siemens, Schneider, or similar platforms)
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, and automation issues across plant equipment
- Partner with maintenance and operations to improve equipment reliability and uptime
- Support preventive maintenance programs and scheduling via CMMS
- Lead or contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term corrective actions
- Assist with system upgrades, commissioning, and new equipment startups
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and OSHA requirements
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field
- 3+ years of experience leading maintenance or technical teams in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with CMMS systems for planning and scheduling maintenance
- Strong experience with PLC troubleshooting/programming and industrial automation systems
- Knowledge of VFDs, motor controls, and industrial networks
- Experience with preventive maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with operations and leadership
