Engineering Manager
The Engineering Manager will lead efforts to improve facility operations and manufacturing processes to meet the high standards of customers in the semiconductor and automotive industries. This role plays a key part in driving organizational change, ensuring that safety, quality, and productivity targets are consistently achieved. The Engineering Manager will oversee product and process development initiatives, champion continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with both business objectives and customer requirements. This position is responsible for leading and developing engineering teams in support of capital projects, manufacturing engineering, process development, and successful product scale‑up.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Engineering Support
- Provide day‑to‑day manufacturing engineering support with a focus on safety, quality, supply chain continuity, and production performance
- Proactively identify operational risks and develop contingency plans to prevent delays, downtime, or losses
- Oversee financial performance by tracking and managing spending related to equipment, operations, and manufacturing support activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including non‑conforming batches and process deviations
- Drive efficiency improvements to reduce waste, increase yield, and maximize usable product
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Integrate manufacturability and scale‑up considerations into new product development efforts
- Support the creation of customer samples and pilot builds for evaluation and testing
- Lead or support shelf‑life studies and product performance evaluations
- Develop automation strategies to support the successful launch and scale‑up of new products
Capital Projects
- Identify, scope, and support capital investment projects aligned with business needs
- Plan, prioritize, and execute major capital expenditures, including new equipment and facility upgrades
- Monitor project budgets and timelines to ensure cost control and on‑time delivery
Process Development
- Develop, optimize, and validate manufacturing processes to support product quality, scalability, and efficiency
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process capability and operational performance
- Document and standardize processes to support training, consistency, and regulatory compliance
Preferred Skillset:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, or related chemistry experience
- 10+ years of experience with hands on manufacturing and leadership experience
- Relevant chemical manufacturing experience (batch-chemicals preferred)
- Must be familiar with FMEA and SPC
