Fiber Optic Sensing Engineer
About the Role
DSJ Global is partnered with a rapidly growing wire and cable manufacturer that is seeking a motivated and innovative Fiber Optic Sensing Engineer to join their team in advancing cutting-edge cable technologies. You will play a key role in developing and scaling fiber optic sensor solutions for industrial applications, with a focus on embedding sensors into composite materials and lab testing various fiber optic sensors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop processes for packaging and embedding optical fibers into composite materials
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action (RCCA) on embedded fiber optic sensors
- Design and implement methods for retrieving or coupling optical fibers from composite materials
- Perform lab testing of embedded fiber optic sensors
- Develop automated testing processes for fiber optic sensors
- Set up packaging operations to enable industrial-scale manufacturing
Your Profile

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in fiber optics
- Hands-on experience with fiber optic tools: fusion splicers, special coating strippers, power meters
- Experience with optical fiber drawing
- Familiarity with DTS, DSS, and FBG interrogators
- Proficiency in LabView, Python, or MATLAB
- Prior industrial experience preferred
