FSQA Manager

A leading food manufacturing organization is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager to lead all site-level quality and food safety programs. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining audit readiness, and driving continuous improvement across the facility. This role will be based on-site in the greater Rocky Mount, NC area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the site's food safety and quality programs, ensuring consistent execution across manufacturing operations
  • Serve as the primary owner of regulatory compliance and audit readiness, including GFSI standards and inspections
  • Oversee and continuously improve core quality systems (food safety plans, sanitation, allergen controls, and process controls)
  • Partner cross-functionally to address quality issues, evaluate product disposition, and support operational decisions
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to minimize risk and prevent recurring issues
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop team capability through training, coaching, and reinforcement of a strong food safety culture

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing within a regulated environment (FDA and/or USDA)
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, and GFSI standards (SQF or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience leading or influencing quality and food safety programs
  • Proven ability to analyze risk, drive root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions
  • Experience preparing for and supporting internal and external audits
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
