General Manager

This is a well-established, privately held precision machining company based in the greater Los Angeles area, with over six decades of experience serving the aerospace, defense, and space sectors. The company specializes in manufacturing complex components using in-house CNC machining methods. With a strong reputation for quality and on-time delivery, the company is poised for growth and long-term value creation under private equity ownership.

Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day operations across manufacturing, quality, production control, purchasing, finance, and HR.
• Manage department heads across Quality, Shop Floor, Finance, Program Management, and Production Control.
• Drive operational excellence with a focus on quality and on-time delivery.
• Serve as the primary internal leader and external representative of the business.
• Engage with customers and prospects - primarily local - with occasional travel (1-2 days/month).
• Collaborate with ownership and the board on strategic initiatives and long-term growth planning.
• Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor; lead by example with a roll-up-your-sleeves approach.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal quality systems.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in precision machining for aerospace, defense, or space industries
• Deep understanding of CNC mill, lathe and grinding operations
• Background in large-scale manufacturing environments and entrepreneurial, hands-on settings
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to confidently engage with customers and internal teams
• Experience managing cross-functional teams in a production environment
• Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of building systems and processes in a growing business
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
