Global Sourcing Buyer Level II
Position Summary: The Global Sourcing Buyer Level II is responsible for coordinating and managing procurement activities for a wide range of goods and services, including raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising. This role involves issuing Requests for Proposal (RFPs), selecting and managing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring supplier performance meets quality, delivery, and cost standards. The position supports major procurement efforts for power generation projects and handles complex purchase orders with significant commercial and financial impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop schedules for equipment and services based on forecasts, site requirements, and product development needs.
- Prepare, issue, and manage RFPs for engineered systems, skids, and components.
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain a qualified supplier base.
- Execute purchase orders using ERP systems (SAP preferred, others acceptable).
- Apply technical knowledge of gas and steam turbine auxiliary systems to sourcing activities.
- Support procurement initiatives for capital equipment and new projects.
- Resolve issues related to auxiliary systems and equipment procurement.
- Review bids and negotiate contracts within budget and authority limits.
- Manage supplier contracts to ensure compliance and timely delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functional communications for material fulfillment.
- Prioritize and manage multiple quotes and purchase orders simultaneously.
- Address quality issues with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews focusing on quality, delivery, and reliability.
- Establish long-term agreements with strategic suppliers.
- Support management in achieving corporate goals and strategic initiatives.
- Handle purchase orders valued at $5 million or more annually.
- Review and negotiate terms and conditions to meet project and company objectives.
- Domestic and international procurement experience required; travel up to 20%.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or sourcing.
- Experience in domestic and international procurement required.
Skills:
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in calculating financial and technical figures.
- Problem-solving skills in dynamic environments.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred), email, spreadsheets, and databases.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Primarily office-based; occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 lbs.
