IT Category Manager - Financial Services (m/f/d)
DSJ Global are seeking an experienced and strategic IT Category Manager (m/f/d) on a permanent basis for a historic investment bank based in Hamburg. This role will sit within their procurement function, playing a key role in managing the entire IT category and engaging with senior leaders to drive value across a wide range of IT spend categories.

The role will cover the breadth of IT subcategories, including Software, Hardware, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, IoT, and other technology-related categories, ensuring the highest standards of cost efficiency, supplier management, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and category management within the IT space, with a preference for candidates who have experience in financial services due to the highly regulated nature of the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage strategic relationships with key IT suppliers, ensuring optimal performance in quality, cost, and delivery across all IT subcategories.
Lead the development and implementation of category strategies, aligning with overall business goals and long-term objectives.
Engage and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business, providing expert advice on IT procurement decisions and supplier selection.
Lead supplier negotiations and contract management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and aligning with internal policies.
Conduct market analysis and provide insights to shape future supplier selection and sourcing strategies.
Manage the end-to-end procurement process for all IT-related spend categories, driving continuous improvement in supplier performance and cost efficiency.
Monitor supplier performance using KPIs, implementing corrective actions where necessary to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
Support the procurement team in planning and executing IT procurement projects, balancing both strategic and operational responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Strong experience in IT procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing across a range of IT subcategories (e.g., Software, Hardware, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, IoT).
Proven track record in a strategic procurement role, ideally within a financial services or highly regulated industry.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at the highest levels of the business.
Experience with supplier negotiations, contract management, and managing complex IT spend categories.
Deep understanding of the regulatory and compliance requirements within the financial services sector.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to offer expert advice to senior stakeholders and drive procurement strategies.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data to make informed procurement decisions.
Additional Qualifications:
Background in financial services or other highly regulated industries is highly preferred.
Experience with procurement tools, ERP systems, and supplier management platforms.
Knowledge of industry standards, certifications, and best practices in IT procurement.
