Lead Engineer - Gas Turbine
DSJ Global is proud to be partnered with a world-class supplier of power generation repairs, services, and parts, currently seeking a Lead Engineer to join their Gas Turbine Division. This is a high-impact role can be done fully remote, offering a full benefits package and relocation support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for gas turbine field service teams, including inspection and operational issue resolution.
- Interpret design criteria and evaluate field issues to support service personnel.
- Prepare detailed work instructions and service-related documentation.
- Analyze dimensional data from field measurements to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop engineering data sheets, procedures, and quality alerts to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes, including containment, investigation, corrective action development, and validation.
- Review operating data to identify trends and troubleshoot turbine/generator performance issues.
- Participate in field outages to document engine conditions during inspection, disassembly, and reassembly.
- Support ISO audits and contribute to documentation and configuration control enhancements.
- Collaborate across divisions including outage services, parts, repairs, and controls to resolve field-related problems.
- Maintain a proactive and positive team environment with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years in gas turbine and generator engineering design or services.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong analytical skills for field data collection and evaluation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, industry reports, and journals.
- Proficiency in writing and reviewing technical reports and customer correspondence.
- Experience with CAD and engineering design tools is desirable.
- Familiarity with Quality Systems and ISO compliance.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Strong customer service orientation with a practical, solution-driven approach.
