Position Summary

The Learning & Development (L&D) Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving training programs that enhance workforce capability across a manufacturing site. This role will serve as a key partner to Operations, HR, and site leadership to ensure employees are equipped with the technical and leadership skills required to drive safety, quality, and productivity.

The Trainer will focus heavily on hands-on, job-specific training for hourly employees, as well as leadership development for frontline supervisors and plant leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver training programs for hourly manufacturing employees, including hands-on and on-the-job training (OJT)
  • Lead training needs analysis (TNA) to identify skill gaps across production, maintenance, and support functions
  • Develop and implement structured training curricula, work instructions, and qualification standards for plant roles
  • Deliver leadership training programs to frontline supervisors and plant leadership teams
  • Facilitate classroom, shop floor, and blended learning sessions in a high-paced manufacturing environment
  • Partner with Operations and site leadership to align training programs with production goals and KPIs
  • Track and measure training effectiveness, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain training records, reporting, and documentation in alignment with internal systems and standards
  • Support onboarding programs to accelerate time-to-productivity for new hires
  • Drive continuous improvement of training programs by incorporating feedback and performance data

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of Learning & Development experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Proven experience delivering leadership training to frontline supervisors and plant leadership
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing hourly, job-specific training programs, including hands-on and on-the-job training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a high-volume or regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., automotive, food & beverage, pharma, or industrial)
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training tracking tools
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
  • Exposure to Lean, continuous improvement, or operational excellence frameworks
