Logistics Operations Manager
A global consumer products company is seeking a Manager of Logistics Operations to serve as its on-site representative at a third-party distribution center. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and is passionate about driving operational excellence through analytics, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
In this role, you'll be the key liaison between internal teams and the 3PL, ensuring alignment with business goals, optimizing performance, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight & Visibility:
- Act as the company's on-site representative at a 3PL-managed DC, ensuring daily operations meet service expectations.
 - Monitor throughput, labor utilization, and order flow using WMS and TMS platforms.
 - Track performance metrics and conduct variance analysis to support proactive decision-making.
 - Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Service, Planning, and Finance to resolve service issues.
 
Analytics & Reporting:
- Analyze volume trends, peak periods, and productivity metrics to support labor planning and shift optimization.
 - Build dashboards and reports that translate operational data into actionable insights.
 - Support reporting for customer-facing metrics and internal reviews.
 - Evaluate freight spend, warehouse productivity, and inventory movements to identify cost-saving opportunities.
 
Compliance & Quality:
- Conduct audits and compliance checks to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory adherence.
 - Standardize processes and documentation across 3PL sites.
 - Lead root cause analyses and drive process improvements.
 
Inventory & Fulfillment:
- Oversee inventory control processes including cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation.
 - Monitor order flow and fulfillment metrics, resolving issues before they impact customers.
 
Customer Experience:
- Manage escalations related to late shipments, damages, or missing items.
 - Track service level performance and identify trends affecting customer satisfaction.
 - Serve as the voice of the customer within the DC.
 
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in distribution center operations, ideally within a 3PL-managed environment.
 - Strong understanding of WMS and TMS platforms.
 - Proven ability to analyze operational data and present insights to leadership.
 - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
 - Ability to work cross-functionally and drive accountability.
