Maintenance Manager
Overview
A growing food‑manufacturing company is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations in a high‑volume, 24/7 production facility. This role oversees maintenance strategy, reliability performance, technical team development, and equipment uptime while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Leadership
- Own the site maintenance strategy, preventive maintenance program, and maintenance standards.
- Reduce unplanned downtime through planning, scheduling, CMMS accuracy, and reliability practices.
- Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety, food‑safety, and compliance requirements.
Planning & CMMS
- Oversee planning/scheduling processes, ensuring high‑quality job plans and proper documentation.
- Drive CMMS accuracy, PM completion, data integrity, and KPI reporting.
Reliability & Improvement
- Lead root‑cause analysis for major failures and implement corrective actions.
- Track and improve reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR, backlog, repeat failures).
- Improve maintenance practices using condition‑based monitoring and continuous‑improvement methods.
Team Development
- Lead and develop supervisors, technicians, and junior staff through training, coaching, and skill progression.
- Promote strong communication, follow‑through, and shift‑to‑shift accountability.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce OSHA, LOTO, electrical‑safety, and food‑safety standards.
- Support site safety programs and maintain a strong culture of safe work practices.
Budget, Vendors & MRO
- Manage maintenance labor and MRO budgets.
- Oversee storeroom inventory, vendor performance, and service-level agreements.
Utilities, Infrastructure & CapEx
- Ensure reliable operation of plant utilities and facility infrastructure.
- Participate in CapEx design reviews, commissioning, and maintenance readiness.
- Lead small capital projects (up to ~$1M).
24/7 Support
- Establish on‑call expectations and escalation procedures for a continuous‑operation environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years in industrial maintenance, engineering, or reliability roles.
- 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Strong CMMS skills and experience improving PM and reliability KPIs.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
- Experience leading RCAs and implementing maintenance standards.
- Knowledge of OSHA, LOTO, and food‑safety requirements.
- Strong communication, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred
- Experience in food/beverage or other regulated manufacturing.
- Background with CapEx projects, commissioning, predictive technologies, and Lean/TPM.
- Vendor, budget, and MRO management experience.
- AutoCAD or advanced CMMS experience.
